Platycerium andinum is the only species of Staghorn ferns to originate in the Americas. This species is from Peru is one of the most spectacular of all. Because of its habitat in the mid-elevations, it does quite well in Coastal Southern California gardens. Once mature, the furry fertile fronds will reach up to 4 feet long. Though once very rare, we have been propagating this species for a decade to make it more available. Nice redwood plaques.
